New Brother...New Blog

Carson's little brother, Timothy Charles Hoffman, was born on November 21st. Carson is such a great big bother. He loves giving Timothy hugs and kisses and always tries to make him laugh. Carson is also a huge help...I feel like he grew up overnight  (and that makes me kind of sad). He is alot more independent than I gave him credit for. Because Carson is  home with me fulltime, we spend our days reading books, playing games, making forts, and entertaining Timothy. I love spending my days with my two boys!

Timothy is a sweet baby and now I cannot imagine our family without him. As the younger brother, Timothy is destined to hand-me-down clothes and used toys. The least I could do was start a new family blog to give updates on both my boys (and not one that only carried his older brother's name in the title). For future updates and pictures check out our family blog at: http://hoffmanhighlights.blogspot.com/

October 2012

With Baby brother due in about a week, I have been scrambling to finish some last minute "to do's" ...including updating this blog! As usual, October flew by, but boy do I sure love Fall in Georgia!  I love living in an older neighborhood with mature, beautiful trees...the fall leaves are breathtaking! Charles decided to take on quite a large landscaping project this summer and fall. Lets just say it involved 4 dump truck loads of dirt, renting a bobcat, building a wall, growing new grass, and planting all new landscaping! He has worked so diligently on this project and we are very happy with the results. Carson, of course, was there to help every step of the way.

Carson enjoys riding his tricycle around the neighborhood...with safety goggles and all. We have lots of big hills in the neighborhood so I usually bring a rope to help him maneuver up and down the steep hills!

Carson and Charles "driving" the bobcat around the backyard.

Carson wanted to dress up like a pirate (again) to go trick-or-treating this year. I had the perfect physique for a pumpkin, and thanks to a trip to Steak & Shake, Charles dressed up like a cook!

Our Trip to Southport

We enjoyed a wonderful visit with Charles' Aunt Polly and Uncle Terry in Southport, North Carolina over labor day weekend last month. Polly and Terry were wonderful hosts and provided great tours of Southport and surrounding areas. It proved to be a relaxing and enjoyable weekend for all of us. It was extra fun because Bullseye (Carson's imaginary horse) also joined us for our family vacation. We are not exactly sure where or when Carson and Bullseye became friends but they really seem to enjoy each others company!
We enjoyed staying with Polly and Terry at their home at St. James Plantation in Southport. Carson loved their dogs, Soffy and Ally.

We visited a marine museum in Southport. At first, we thought that this object was a telescope and told Carson to look through the lens. Then Terry informed us that it was actually a small cannon ... oops!

We enjoyed looking at all the boats at the marina at St. James.

Carson liked looking for fiddler crabs below the dock at the marina

We took a Ferry Boat ride over to Fort Fisher Island

The aquarium at Fort Fisher was really great.

No coastal vacation is complete without a trip to the beach! Carson enjoys building sand castles with daddy.

Aunt Polly and Charles finally convinced Carson to take a dip in the ocean!

We concluded the weekend with a trip to the North Carolina Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell.
